You'd imagine the steering would be heavier with the wider tyres but maybe that won't be an issue for you.
Lots of fine, meticulous work on the engine, hope I can do as well when I'm fiddling with mine (hope I don't have to go to the same extent, not intialy anyway).

Got hold of a original air cleaner for the 2 1/4 petrol motor.
Was the inside of the top fined section painted, or only the outside.
Didn't look like any paint inside ????
Has anyone drilled the spot welds and pulled the top gauze section out to clean.
Thanks

I had 32x11.5r15's on my 109, with a Truetrac in the front and no FWH, THAT was heavy.... changed to 31x10.5r15's and they are heaps lighter to steer. More importantly though the 235x85r16s will be a better gear ratio for highway driving. I noticed the difference and preferred the bigger tyre, just made the car more relaxed. Also the 32's rode better.
BUT if you have a set of 31's laying around why not get some kms from them then change later on when you need to.
Thanks for the replies.

I've re-painted 4 air cleaners over the last few years and not one was originally painted inside the top section.
Looks like they may have been assembled then painted.

Hi,
what connects to this double banjo union.
Stromberg was fitted to the 2 1/4 Landrover engine, but a Zenith is going back on.
Thanks
