Rocker Gear, to go on shortly.
Appears to be only one shaft locating bolt.
Is the other missing or is there only one, as it seem the same on the spare rocker gear.
Thanks

Picked up a spare chassis today.
Is a lot better than Gilberts.
Only real work on the rear cross member.
Will get a chassis number. Maybe a Series 2 chassis.
Will all the series 3 gear transfer straight across ????
Thanks

Few more.
And more.
Last Ones
That it.
The last pic is of the lower gearbox mount. It has been cut out, as it was a good one.
It if welded in a fixed position
Read somewhere, you can make it removable, allowing the lower removal of the gearbox.
Any ideas and pics of brackets etc.
Thanks.

Billy,
The Army modified that cross member on their series vehicles to a removable/bolt up version.
Check this out.

Missing hole in head gasket ????
Put the head on yesterday, but noticed a missing hole in the head gasket.
Yet there is a hole in the block and head.
Looked at several online gaskets, of different makes and they all have this hole, NOT stamped into the head gasket.
Why, do remember when I looked at the head ( x2 ) they both had one hole gunked up, maybe this is the reason. Cant remember which one though.
Any ideas please.
Thanks.
Just found this on a old Landrover site.

Head on, rocker gear taken apart and cleaned.
The rocker shaft had some wear in a couple of spots, the other one was very worn, so not usable.
Could not believe how tight the tappet adjust nut was done up.
Stuffed on slot, trying to separate it.
Lucky I had a spare set of rocker gears. Just found the best one only used the threaded screw part.
Took it from the rocker with matching cast numbers.
Now to do the tappet clearance, 0.010 cold ????? or hot.
