Very happy.
Time to finish Gilbert.

Hi.
Gilbert is under cover, but open to elements.
Any advantage on adding the soft top Canvas now, allowing it to weather a bit.
Very damp air at the moment, and could wet down once a week if needed, to help it shrink to fit.
Air drying under its shelter, not in full sun.
Thanks for your comments.

Depends what canvas you use. I recently bought a new canvas for my 101 from Exmoor Trim and it only took one or two soakings in the rain to shrink perfectly which is exactly what they said. Hasn’t moved a mm since. I was chatting to a guy at Corowa and his new canvas (from a local guy) shrank so much it became useless after it first got wet, so not sure what happened there - maybe they didn’t use pre shrunk canvas.
While not cheap, I can highly recommend Exmoor - extremely well made and very good service. Not sure if you’ve bought something but if not, is this the sort of thing you’re looking for - 88 Inch Full Hood Canvas | Exmoor Trim
Thanks.
Got mine from Under Cover covers., year or so, ago.
From what I read, can be a bit hit or miss with who ever you use.

It will be worth while wetting it down. A good canvass shouldn’t shrink much at all. What should be happening is the stitching swells up in the needle holes to seal off properly. Still, after wetting it down make sure the canvas isn’t pulled down tight otherwise the seams might get pulled apart if it does shrink.
