    Doors

    Started on Gilberts doors.
I want to use original ones fitted, when I got him.
Very poor at the bottom, but overall not to bad.
Picked up a good set of S2 door tops. It it easy to fit S3 locks, with a little bit of hole making ????

The key position differs (need a hole in the skin), otherwise the anti-burst locks introduced during S3 production are interchangeable with the earlier locks back to at least 1954.

    Few repairs to the bonnet.
Replaced all pop rivets. Molded rivets along front looked ok.
Then doors, bonnet, spare tunnel cover without OD hole, and body skirts, under doors and wings, off to the blaster.
I replaced the latch bracket, as per original, with original nut cleaned up and welded to the back.
After welding up, I ran a tap down the thread. Just to clean it up. The tap sat at an angle, as if the bracket was not welded square, when done.
Wonder if it will effect the bonnet closing ?
