Yep, as John said if that’s what you got it’s the right one. If your point gap set right? Too small a gap will have the coil energised more than it should. As mentioned leaving the ignition on for long periods isn’t a great idea either, if the points are closed when you do this, it will heat it up too.

Usually cast iron head hot & alum cold.
Good Evening.
Checked head bolts. Re Torqued.
Also did the Tappets. most needed tweeking. 3 Needed a little more.
Brakes pretty poor. Bled and adjusted.
I rebuilt an original Zenith. Supplied jets and screw were different thread. At least gaskets and fuel pump diaphragm fitted.
Clean up original jets and adjusting screw and assembled.
Idles and runs much better than the BritPart one. Wonder what needs to be done to improve the Am one ????
Does die if throttle opened quickly, then picks up. Steady throttle and no problems.
Will play with the volume screw a bit. At least it works, unlike the BP one, whose screw has a flat end, the original one a sharp point.
Using pump linkage hole, 'furthest from fulcrum', as per manual. might try the other hole.
I had a spare carby adapter plate, wuth the PCV valve inlet fitting added. Pull it out and it was the same thread as the booster inlet on the intake manifold and 1/2 inch, same as booster inlet..... used some half inch fuel line i had.
S**T brakes work now

Top and bottom lapped on 1200 oiled wet and dry.and a pane of glass. Was warped.
'O' ring softened in boiling water before being dried and fitted.

I fed the choke cable through the bulkhead yesterday.
Suddenly smoke was coming through the bulkhead hole.
Other end was sitting on the Positive Terminal of the battery.
