The Heart of Gilbert fired up, after many years, I suspect of sitting in rest.
Odd flame out of the carby and muffler, but a re check on timing and points sorted out that.
Bit of tuning on the Chinese or Indian carby, and he seems to run quite smooth.
Up to temp a few times with short rev rises. switching off and let cool and settle.
Rocker cover off, showed oil gettting up and out of the valve rod holes.
Smokey to start with, until all the oils I had added here and there burnt off.
I will rebuild the good Zenith I have partly refaced and cleaned.
I plan to next recheck Head Torque by undoing and re torque each bolt one at at time per book Pattern ????
Then re checking valve clearances. Good Idea ????
Brakes tomorrow, making up two pipes from the Duel valve to the Master Cylinder.
Did move Gilbert under his steam, couple of Meters forward and back. Clutch picks up an inch from the floor.
Will re bleed clutch. Guess the brakes with the duel brake circuit and Valve as per book ????
Thanks for replies.

Up and down the road in Gilbert today.
Only wiring at the moment Is power to solenoid and coil
Bled up brakes, but no brakes. Will check adjustment tomorrow.
Didn't connect booster pipe. Manifold one blocked off.
Should I get some brakes, or must the booster pipe be fitted, with this system. May need Bleeding again.
Gilbert Is very quiet. Little chatter in Second, goes on acceleration, but may have been two ring spanners on Parcel shelf.
If not, slight adjustment of 2nd on selector shaft maybe needed.
Very tight to get into first. High/Low all good. Especially with limited brakes.
AM carby, Very happy with Gilberts short road trip.
Wiring tomorrow. Warm up again, then Check timing and carby settings.
Later in the week, after as few short runs, Redo head bolts and check valve clearances.
A good day. Getting closer.

Repco one of these fitted.
From the description, that is the right one - I think it is the same as the one in mine (ex-Repco!). Just make sure the one you have is the same as that description.
The coil may get hot if left for some time with the ignition on and the points closed. (and this won't do the points any good either!)
