Tim.
If you haven't painted the roof yet, look into the paint they market for sealing caravan roofs. You may be able to achieve what the factory couldnt
ENJOY
Andrew
I'm glad you asked that question. From what i can gather some of the later Series 3's had more of a white on the roof.
The Camino Gold parts car i have is all original and the roof is white with colour coded door tops and hardtop side panels.
Personally, if you are sticking with the colour already on it, i would go with white on the roof only, match the rest.

If it doesn't leak I don't believe I'll be getting the full Landy experience Andrew
nosliwedaw, at the moment I'm going to wait to see what the wheels look like in "Limestone" If it's a bit too yellow I might try to find another Land Rover white that will suit the vehicle. I'm still undecided as to what colour the rest of the car is going to be. At the moment it's kind of a toss up between the original "Sand", Masai Red, or Shaun the sheep blue
Cheers,
Hi Tim.
I just noticed, has your dash top got no cracking whatsoever? First time I've seem that on a barn find Series III. Must be no sun in NZ
With a wet climate (and salted roads), it is also amazing that the footwells look rust free....
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh one day in sunny WA.
Cheers,
Chris
Hi Chris, yeah, the chassis, doors, and firewall are in really great shape considering the age of the vehicle, and it's life. In saying that my Grandfather was very proactive with rust treatments etc, and the car was always garaged. Oh, and the roads were never salted in the far north
I was expecting the car to be available for pick up today, but no dice. Starting to get a bit impatient now!!
Cheers,
The roads aren't salted, definitely not in the north island anyway, maybe there was confusion with the UK. By the looks of it, she has been shedded and looked after, no sun or moisture damage.

Good luck to you with this worthy project. It's fantastic that you have such a long and treasured history with this beautiful piece of machinery. It deserves the care your giving it, and you deserve the pleasure and grins it will give you in the long run.
Well, "maybe today" is the latest from the freight forwarder. It's almost spent more time at Fremantle port than on the water!
Cheers,
