Nice piece of kit you got there.

I've learnt everything I know from previous Landy, here and other net forums.

    Enjoy.

Slowly making progress with the diff, I was curious as to how interchangeable the various parts are for the front and rear diffs? I'm assuming they're both original (Rover)...

Aaagh! Spent a good three hours on the diff, both the halfshafts are in perfect condition (bar a bum oil seal on the driver's side), so not sure what's going on inside...

Couldn't actually open up the diff - spent most the time trying to get it open with a chisel and hammer (it's stuck pretty well), so hopefully it'll come off tomorrow - I'll definitely need a new diff gasket :s

    Diff Schmiff

A big thank you to Andrew (aka Shonky) for giving some helpful advice & labour this afternoon!

Now that something appears wrong with the carbie, I've given up on the diff. I gave it another couple of hours today and it won't separate more than a few millimeters - either way it's exceptionally rooted

Anybody have an unloved Rover rear diff about the place?

No worries Dave - I didn't really help much and didn't get any further than you did.

In fact, all I did was break your screwdriver and ruin your "sweet runner" engine with my negative vibes...

Nonetheless, it was good to say G'Day and check out your toy. No doubt it will be up and tearing through the bush soon!

    She's running again!

No wonder they call you Shonky...

Lots of back-firing and black smoke though - I'll do some research...

Hope your trip was ok, thanks again for stopping by!

Lol thanks Carolyn - very exciting stuff

    I appreciate the thought!

I asked my girlfriend and aunt what I should call her, they each said Buttercup (taken of course ) - you're good at naming them, any suggestions?

you can use "buttercup" if you wish I will be selling her eventually....S3 holden motor runs well...name think of where you bought her/him and that will seal the deal

    sorry Inc
