something even better. it will outlast dye and spray paint and its extreamly scratch resistant.

Upol raptor epoxy bed liner.
the d2's flares were faded and crusty so i ripped them off, quick sand and coated then in raptor.



its shiny without being shiny if you get me? you spray it on with a schultz gun for the stippled effect.

It is a dye not a paint. Makes them look new again.

Yep, best stuff. However, if you have previously used Armorall or any kind of reviver/glosser on it before, you will need to thoroughly clean them in Prepsol first to remove oxidation and silicone deposits otherwise it will spot and not go on properly when spraying.
Good scrub with a medium scrubbing brush will help.

Wash it all down with a good sponge in a mild detergent, rinse and dry off.

Prepsol alone makes it look pretty good!

Found that a product called "momar" does an excellent job makes all them bits look new

Well here's an update ... I went and bought the VHT vinyl dye as suggested by Ben and did the head lamp protector surrounds and the grille today - bolted them back on this evening and they look brand new. Scored them first with #0000 steel wool and then gave two light coats and one wet coat ... job done.

I degreased some key areas today and things look better ... will be doing Blue Slip this week fingers crossed. I am having a weird thing happen with the small top headlamp bulbs. The driver side bulb was working recently, passenger side not. When I replaced the pass side bulb this evening I noticed that the Driver side bulb was no longer working. So now the Pass side is ok ( replacement bulb ) but the driver side not ok. When I put a new bulb in the driver side it doesn't light up .... hmmmm.

It may be the contacts need a clean, not sure ... but I need to sort it out before taking in for Blue Slip this week. Hopefully it's nothing of any significance to fix and I can get it lit up tomorrow sometime.

You could go all the way and never have fading flares again - colour co-ordinate the flares with your car.

I have done this with 2 Defenders to date and if done correctly will withstand almost everything you can throw at it.
