Firstly thanks for replying, i appreciate it. Sorry for the slow response, replacing the alternator bearings opened a whole other can of worms...& was delightfully 'left' of the solution
There is no real play in my tensioner bearing & it spins freely but it does sound a little 'sandy'... I shall follow your lead & replace the Tensioner, the water pump & the belt.

. Yeah the first pump was a genuine LR made in spain & the second (& now 3rd) QH from UK. So when 2 different makes present the same symptom I had to find the cause. So hopefully i am on track now.
