    Help needed with air filter

I will start off by saying that I am going to post this in the Classic rover section as well, 'cause I'm not quite sure where it belongs.

My issue is that my rangie has an original part air filter No. ESR2747.

It is a cylindrical style filter.

The filter housing is not the standard classic housing, but rather, more like a barrell with the intake off to the right hand side as you look at it from the front. The filter itself is accessed by undoing a wing nut at the front of the housing, then a second wing nut that actually secures the filter inside the housing. (the standard classic has the trumpet clipped to the front, & it is definately not the same housing)

I have been told that it is the standard filter fo a 300TDI deefer. can anyone confirm this to be the case & if so, what year model?

I would like know if there is a ryco or similar after market part, or where I could get the OEM part on a Saturday.

I have spoken with a couple of the known Vendors here but they have all said that they are not open on Saturday.

    thanks in anticipation!

Help needed to identify & locate air filter

I have posted this same question in the Defender section as well, because I'm not quite sure where it belongs.

I have been told that it is the standard filter fo a 300TDI deefer. can anyone confirm this to be the case & if so, what year model?

(I was suspicious that it came from a VM diesel)

Not sure without a picture but it sound like a Tdi filter to me.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Google says that ESR2747 is for a 300tdi Wolf XD.

However, it must be different from the regular 300tdi as ESR2747 doesn't come up in LR Aust parts list.
The standard 300tdi Defender filter is ESR2623.

Both my 300 TDI discos have a big square filter. Understand these are cheap. You may be able to buy a new filter housing from the wreckers. Why no put on a snorkle, and fit a filter on top of it--hat is what I would do.

From what I understand, the Wolf housing is a later model (plastic) Donaldson or Mann and not a steel, Cyclopac clone one.

    I believe it's also a bigger filter/housing too.

If so, Donaldson would have an element that would fit.
If the OP can post photo's and dimensions it should be relatively easy to work out exactly what Donaldson or Mann housing it is.
I did have some numbers at one stage, but my deity only knows where they are now.

The Wolf air cleaner is definitely a Donaldson, and for whatever reason civilians in the UK were having trouble getting the damned elements ?
(i dug up an old thread on LR4x4, I was looking at getting one of these years ago)

Apparently the element is Donaldson P772579, if you have trouble you should be able to cross from that.

Looks like a standard 300Tdi Defender air cleaner.

Either a Coopers AEM2566, Land Rover ESR2623, or my preference (and the cheapest) a Donaldson P182052.

There is a difference between the 200Tdi and 300Tdi housings, and for the life of me I can't recall what it is.
