Jumped into my Defender and broke the bead on a 14.9 x 38 tractor tyre off my Massey Ferguson 165. I did this by laying the wheel down and running the Land Rover wheel just against the rim and then it needed the other side pressing off, :(:wheelchair: and that was all done with smoke and mirrors ------ lumps of wood, 4x2 levers and lots of cunning moves so that I didn't strain my back.
The tyre off the MF165 had a casing repair gone wrong, it needed cleaning out with fresh glue worked into the crack and a new slipper inside the casing, the tube had abraded through so that was patched as well.
Ran out of daylight last night, so the job of fitting the valve stem back through the valve stem hole in the rim will be done today.
More smoke and mirrors required, then I should have the wheel back on the Fergie by lunch time today. :arms:
Thought I had suspected locked BW transfer
Tightened passenger rear rim solved the issues!
Don't ask
(they were hand checked)
Happy Driving since

Finally finished installing the Enginesaver low water alarm.
Tonight I pulled the ABS modulator out of the wifes D2 and fitted a new kit to it.
Amazed how quick it is to do! And my unit has good continuity at the pins so no repair needed.
No more Amigos :D
Whilst I was in there, I ripped out the HID lighting system and fitted some plus 120 globes.
According to the lux meter, the lights the same intensity but closer to yellow in colour than the 5000k HIDs.
Should make driving in wet weather much nicer without the glare and harsh cut off.
Tomorrow it's wheels off, brake calliper rebuilds all round and pull the head lining!
And somewhere amongst this I need to do a complete brake rotor and pad replacement, plus front upper and lower ball joints on the Sons Terrano... Should be a fun filled day.
Lots of this.....and then the crawl around under and over to check everything.

I washed mine and cleaned out the dust.
Ive washed it twice now, which is only three short of the number of times I washed the hilux in the 6 years I owned it....
Yesterday I pulled those annoying door liners off my Disco 1 yet again, this time to fix a stuck left side electric window, and to refix the now kinda busted drivers side door pocket.
Seems I sunk my boot into it while getting out the other day.
Now waiting on delivery of a shiny new ball joint for the rear A frame to see if that stops the clunk I have in the rear end on power on and off situations. The dust seal is shot and torn, so my guess is the ball joint isn't all that good any more.
Whipped up a pair of rock sliders with tree bars on the weekend. I went for 50mm tube to match the bullbar.
Satisfaction of saving several hundred dollars by doing it yourself: Priceless :D
