Fitted a speedohealer from ashcrofts
So now i can have the factory cruise control with my roverdrive.
Works great and easy to fit and doesn't affect the speedo reading.
Also fitted a worklight to the back of the truck
Wired in a 3 way switch so it can be off,on or on through the reverse
Light also converted the fog light to a reverse light
Cheers,
Paul
Packed the Disco with almost all we'll have for camping and then took the family for a trip to the weight bridge. Deck 1 is the front axle and deck 2 is the rear.

Just missing the fridge which I am borrowing, 20AH AGM battery and a 60W solar panel.
260kg under GVM with roof top tent, awning, winch, bull bar, full tank of fuel, 20L Jerry, 40L water, tool boxes, the whole shebang. I'm pretty happy.
Happy Days
Replaced a front uni joint at the transfer case end. Old one was totally stuffed. Had to cut one bolt to remove tail shaft. Did not realise it was the universal joint failing. Had replaced the V belts and naturally as things happen for me. It was about a day after the V belt change a chirping noise was heard. I presumed the belts needed adjusting. So checked the belts. Still the noise, as my old ute shakes anyway I did not notice any more vibration from the uni joint. That uni joint is copping a lot more wear as the center diff copper washers are well worn causing play in the front out put. So all good for now.
Cheers Hall
fitted king springs on front and replaced both engine mounts (finally) rh front mount had collapsed and lh had the centre bolt torn out:eek::wasntme::eek:took about 3.5 hours eeeeeeeeeasy
Had to do a work quote this morning, turned into potential customers up hill street to smell coolant, stopped to find coolant running out both sides of the bonnet and low water alarm going off.
Did "waste of time"quote and back to find leak and couldnt, topped up radiator and drove off with thermo fans running constantly to servo, leak was at top of heater matrix-plastic had gone brittle and cracked[95 110].
Bypassed heater and drove home fine.
Got home and removed heater blower unit and top of matrix broke off,
its only done 460,000ks
New one ordered from UK
Finished 3D printing a new surround for the hvac controls inn Jeremy, as you can see in the picture, the old one was buggered.
Now I can finish the rewire and he'll be back on the road again :-D
Got the low beam headlights fixed, as they had died on me on Wednesday night while I was out, so I had to drive home on high beam. Fuses were OK and it turned out to be a faulty relay. All fixed now.
Also managd to get the filler plug out of the transfer case with a borrowed long socket and found that, yes, it is full of oil and there's no need to worry, despite a weep from a seal at the bottom of the transfer case.
Also inspected various bushes and decided most of them are OK, but might try getting the ones in the steering damper replaced to see if that makes the steering more precise.
