Running that close to the compressor won't help its longevity (compressor).

Allisport and a few others tried tubular manifolds and they all fail - crack, break, fracture etc.

End result - better designed cast iron manifold.

Stainless doesn't like the heat loading and will fatigue and fail.

Hence the blanking plates etc are made of mild steel not stainless (which fails).

Bit hard to see, but I threaded the compressor securing bolt in loosely, and it pretty much touches the header, so, no, I don't think it can be made to fit.

Mods, can this line of posts be consolidated into a new thread, or is it OK to keep it going here?

Keeping mind what Tombie said re s/steel. I reckon it could be made to fit if the face was machined. Dunno what it would do to the strength.
