Fitted a Mulgo rear door strut kit to my defender. Easy job.

Tips for young players... line up your drill holes for the riv nuts precisely. My drill wandered a fraction, and I needed to file the bracket to get the right fit. I trimmed the bottom plastic of the door to allow all the factory trim clips to be maintained (don't want any more rattles in the old girl).
Took the opportunity to clean behind the rear door trim, so much dust back there. Also put some grease on all the lock / handle linkages for good measure.

Also plumbed in the nugget diff breather kit which I've been sitting on for a while. There was a bit of fishing to do to retrieve the factory breather pipes in the puma 'bay... but got there in the end.

Today I learnt more about my Deef and it learnt more colourful language from me, not directed at it more the issue i had.

I removed the EGR and very glad I did. I have never seen so much crud go back to a motor. Well it seems to breath happier now

I did have a nice new Allisport intercooler to install along with new silicone hoses once I did the EGR, but I got stumped on those 4 bolts (studs I know- as I couldn't find the thread until now, as i remembered reading that one before which stated "do not lose inside or wind wrong way") for the bonnet latch/shroud doodad thingymejig... Hence the colourful language my deefer learnt after losing one and deciding to recover that said stud and delay to another day to fit.

Also spent time looking, cleaning and checking the engine / bay whilst tinkering.

Gave Charlie a wash and polished the pin stripes out from last weekend. Thankfully tar and bug remover was all that was required.

Also finished cleaning, refurbishing and reassembling the old XYZ switch for the spare parts box.

    Cheers

How do i get these damn front propshaft bolts off?
The local rover mechanic let me use his hoist, and gave me a hand getting those damn nuts off, gave me new ones, and wouldn't take payment, not even the amber variety!

Then I drove out to York RWD.

Not as bad as mine does.... Had a 1/2" drive ratchet and socket slip off the bolt for my sill tank and pop me right in the eye on Sun while me and loanrangie were replacing my tc mount.
