Finally pulled out the in-tank sensor/fuel pump, and changed out the fuel pump with a $120 pump as opposed to the $1200 complete unit.
Car is definitely smoother, and not starved of fuel under full power.
Hoping it will now start as per normal when less than 1/4 tank!!!!
Took 2-1/2 hours at a slow pace.....

Yesterday went to leave a customers house and the starter wouldnt engage, pop the bonnet and jiggle the little wire on the starter solinoid[that i have previously soldered on solid because of this reason, turns out this wire is covered in soot from leaking manifold gasket that i replaced on Saturday when i broke the turbo housing[other post]] and starts up and im off, drive down the range from Maleny only to have a hard brake peddle at the bottom and no brakes-30 seconds later all is back to normal. Get home and check booster and no cracks and experts say it was just brake fade? also discover oil on drivers brake rotor and need a new stub axle and seal. Today pull up at post office and go to leave and again no start so bonnet up and jiggle wire and we are away but with a rock hard brake peddle and no brakes. Get home and the vaccuum pump isnt vaccuuming so swap that over with a spare and a home made gasket and we have brakes, also swapped over the starter motor that has been sitting on the floor waiting for me.
In the last two weeks i have done the p gasket then replaced a cracked water pump, fan belt and power steering pump and pulley and today vaccuum pump and starter motor. This 110 will go for ages with out drama and then all this. But i love my landy

Leave me out of this [ place smilie here, can't get mine to work] Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I certainly wouldn't accuse you of having a gratuitous whinge about a hypothetical situation Bob.

Not today, but only got piccies today

After our little trip to Garden of Stone NP, my rear bumper looked like this...

Add a few strips of 100mph tape to keep it where it was, that's how it looked up until two days ago.
It was getting a bit of unwanted attention, looked ratty as hell and was coming apart, so I had a sit down in the gravel, sunburnt my arms, got dirt in my eyes, and got to hit things with a hammer until it looked like this

Still a bit tatty but much better than it was before so I can live with it...
....For about 2 months until it gets the steel treatment
    Cheers

Water pump, steering pump, engine mounts, coolant flush, driveline oils, credit card now depleted but good service by cremorne prestige at artarman.
All set to hit the road in the new year.

Replaced the a frame ball joint on the 130. All came out ok, but the workshop I took it to had trouble pressing the new one back in. All good now and no more clunking when taking off or changing gear.
