Yeah, but since the kids stood on the window switch panel and broke the 4 little screw tabs off I need to finish fixing that and then replace the centre consul (Stand by for tutorial for repairing these). Since, and I really hope it's unrelated, I also have no air from the passenger side inner dash A/c vent (the one on the LHS of the radio).

The handbrake button also started sticking in. The shaft got bent, again by the kids playing with it while it was disconnected. They pulled it up past the ratchet mech and then pushed down without pushing the button and flipped the ratchet lever over. Turns out the black button only pushed on so twist to remove. Check which way it's bent and clip on a set of vice grips and gently bend back. Just inside there's a bush and star clip (like the one that holds the lever end of the auto cable in). This prevents the whole shaft/rod moving when you try to bend it back. Then push the button back on, doesn't need any adhesive.

The rear tailshaft needs the slip joint replaced. Can swap it for the one on the original donut shaft but I'm not paying the quoted $500- for it. Which could be more because even at a drive shaft manufacturer they could not visualise cutting it off and replacing.

I had to replace some of my screw tabs, I bought a packet from Supa-cheap, larger than the tiny originals, but still 6mm. Super glued them on, because they kept slipping off due to the plastic edge being broken, all good now. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Cleaned it after my "friends" thought it would be hilarious to **** all over it last night
I get that they're not all LR fans, but show some ****ing respect for something that I've put lots of my time, money and effort into, don't see me doing it to their cars. ****ers.

Then just drove it, went exploring, the usual

I hope you had a nice drive and got rid of all your understandable frustrations.
At least you have now come back to AULRO where your real friends are.
    Chin up mate.

I get that there's typical teenager type stuff, and not everyone is as passionate about them as I am, but they've all got their own cars, they all love them as much as I love mine. If I did it to them, they'd chuck a massive spaz, but I'm supposed to wear it?
    Ahh well.
I guess that's why I keep a knife under the drivers seat...

Needless to say, when they ask if I will cart them around or take them 4WDing, have a guess which three words I respond with
It's not just a matter of being disrespectful, but it's dangerous and potentially damaging things like flipping on my hazard lights while I'm driving, or trying to knock the auto shifter into N or P.
If you want to be a dickhead and **** someones car, do it to your own, not someone elses pride and joy.
(don't tell my girlfriend I said that )
