Replaced the LHF window regulator in my Disco, what a lot of fun that was.

The old one had at some stage had a broken runner and the previous owner must have had trouble getting the regulator out, butchered it, as it was bent and seized and then just tied everything up with cable ties to keep the window up.

Works great now but they have taken out the moisture barrier.

I have some plastic I can cut to shape for this but can anyone tell me the right sort of non-hardening sealant to use ?

Try this. That question and this reply should go over to the D1's Tech section

I haven't used this product yet for that same purpose, but it reads like it will do the job.

Don't forget to tweak the threaded rod going down to the door latch from the mechanism from the door handles to allow for wear.
I shorten that rod by three turns maximum if the doors are still opening ok, but if you find you are pressing on the door while tugging on the outside handle to get it to open, that rod may need shortening four or more turns.
It's a bit of suck it and see with that adjustment.

On the 110, straightened out the drivers step (roughly) and taped up the RH front wheel flare after the altercation with a macropod last night.

Not really "on my Landy", but I happened upon 4 altered Disco rims today. They look to be the standard centres moved into the rim by about 20mm, making them 7J X 16 X 13.0-ish. Here's a picture with a standard Disco rim.

What are people's opinions on altered rims - are these of use, or basically pretty garden ornaments now that they've been played with? FWIW, it looks to be a very professional job. They also put in a second valve stem hole in the newly exposed section of the rim - I can only assume that's for a TPMS? No idea.

If they're worth something I'll fix them up!

    Common modification to widen track...

2nd valve is usually for internal bead locks

Thanks Tombie, good to know - looks like I have some research to do. It at least sounds they're worth looking after for trading purposes somewhere down the line.

Brazed a heater pipe on my County up after it touched the manifold and wore a hole through, I had never brazed before so another skill learnt

Also replaced one the original air intake duct 2.5" to 3" adapter, the old rubber one split when I was pulling the air filter housing out, now it has a ****** blue silicon thing that looks totally out of place. Pity you can't get the normal bits in a supercheap/repco etc anymore.

I received the new heart for the Disco last week. It'll be a bit of a project to get it all done but next year I'll have a rebuild 4.6 heart transplant in there.

Boring crap. I made a 10mm thick speaker spacer for the passenger side. I removed all the AC from my Defender cab so now the speaker mounts to the original dash but would fowl on the motor for the windscreen wipers.

    Re mounted my EBC.

Trying to sort CAV fiter to replace stock LR sedimenter

    Rotated tyres/wheels.

Cursed the hell out of who ever in Solihull decided that the footwells in the Bulkhead needed to have a second skin/double layer and also a cavity….
