Ok I got the s3 ready for a mystery cruise with the lrregsa tomorrow. Fitted the uhf. Wow. I found there were no instructions in the box. When I turned it on I pressed scan, but that was also the menu button. Big mistake. Now I dont know what ive done but its doing weird things now. Will look on internet for instructions after this. Well I guess ill see how she goes on her maiden day trip since ive had her, tomorrow.
Cheers Rod
I remembered to actually do my clothes washing and drying too. :D:D:D

Went on mystery cruise with club. Was good. Bad bit...brand new uhf bought 3 months ago and fitted on saturday(yesterday), decided to lock up. So turned it of and on same result. Researched instructions online, did "factory reset" procedure. No good just stayed locked on 12 then changed by itself to 5 then it stayed there. Could not transmit or receive. Did reset again. Locked itself to 22 again. Now it stays there. Its an oricom uhf030 from super cheap. Lucky i kept the receipt. Phone calls tomorrow.
Cheers Rod

Ok faulty uhf sent away for repair/replacement. They wanted everything that came in the box so i had to remove the wiring harness and everything. Sux. Had to pull the s3 dash out to get to harness. Ill see what happens.

Finally put the new suspension into my 01 td5 d2. A combination of dobinsons springs with ome shocks. Found the supposed 2" lift shocks ome sell are the same travel and length as the original ?? Did a bit more digging and found the right ones in the "L" version giving 53mm more travel. Put them all in and it's a bit stiff in the back but I tow a big boat and certainly helps when it gets a bit of a sway at 110km but can't really complain. Last thing left to do is track down a tc with a central diff lock and the unit is complete ready for weekend warrioring

Well so far today ive turned the s2a 109 chassis upside down, hosed the chassis out several times, turned it right side up, hosed some more. The amount of crap im getting out of the chassis is amazing. Kept on hosing chassis on its side, then other side. Kept turning it over and over, u get the picture, hosing it out. I think ive finally got about 95% of the built up dirt and crud out. Now chassis is sitting as high as i can get it at the front with the back on the ground, hopefully to drain as much water out as i can. Now juat need a couple hot days to dry it out then i can weld up the holes that i cut in the rear to clean and drain out water, and one tiny rust hole, then off to the sandblasters for blast and paint. Satin black i think. It will match the flat olive drab the body will be painted in. Now to rest and watch Roothys latest installment, s1, ep 2 lowrange.
Cheers Rod

Installed the Kickass 120 Amp AGM into the space behind the drawer on its side held down by a piece of angle iron and clamps scavenged from the shed and two screw-in tie-down points in the baseboard for the drawer. Another length of angle iron stops it sliding forwards. Its connected to the main power feed with 60 Amp fuses from the Traxide under the front passenger's seat. With the lid on its out of sight. Now to connect some plugs for fridge, portable solar and USBs and we're ready to go.
