    Some nice timber there.
What do you have planned for them? Are you going to mill them?

Have to be very careful what he does with them coz they are covered in "creosote"? Cant burn it coz its toxic we were told. I think he wants to use them as feature beams in a house he will be building in Cape Jaffa marina development stage 2 if it ever goes ahead. He already has his block chosen and reserved for him.
Todays effort we picked up the last beam and were shifting them around a bit. He's sure theres another beam out there but we cant locate it. We have a pic of it and its not one we've gotten yet. So there should be 5 big beams. We have 4.
    Couple pics⤵
Last one is the site foreman supervising us 😆😆

With well seasoned like that would be, is it possible to trim the creosote off each side (provided it hasn't penetrated too far?
Whatever you do, don't burn them - not just because of the creosote but that sort of timber is not easy to get these days.

Recycled some unused space for an easily accessed switch panel.

Switches for lights, socket and silver one toggles between main battery and portable aux battery box.

Yep. Around 30 years ago I was working on a building sit in Brisbane CBD, right on the river. Part of that meant demolishing one of the old wharfs. Bloke on the site was making a motza selling the pilings and boards for landscaping and building purposes, until some Department or other turned up to supervise the disposal. Had to get it all back. At his expense. Creosote can be nasty stuff.

Trip to Kingston SE on Thursday 305 klm 46.06 litres fuel used, 3 hours driving time. Trip home was 299.9 klm 56.9 litres fuel used, 4 hours driving time. Pushing the wind all the way, fighting the steering wheel, getting blown all over the place. Bloody windy😡.

Today i wired up a power socket in the rear of the s3. Connected directly to the battery through a 30 amp circuit breaker from a commodore power windows circuit. Then i removed the door tops from betsy's doors and fitted them to the s3. We have a club mystery drive tomorrow so ill have power in the back for the fridge, which is inside atm getting cold on the 120 amp deep cycle battery that coop gave me. Its an old waeco but works well. I have 2 of them. Plan is to use one as a fridge and one as a freezer on my treks.

Finally got the diff ( yeah, final drive, but diff is easier ) back from the menders, new C&P. So, put that in. Learnt a lot about the MaxiDrive locker. What a fine piece of engineering that is. Pity they're not still around, cos I'd love one for the front.
So, while it was apart I did new wheel bearings ( rear ), and new unis. Found out that someone has been playing silly buggers. The rear uni is about 6mm longer across the trunnion than the standard one, while the front one is the norm. Bit of head scratching there, but a mate at bearing wholesalers sorted that out for me. It has a 4 hole flange and no doughnut. Love to know what the shaft is actually out of. A Fred Smith mystery.

Also discovered that the RH axle won't come out past the hub carrier, because of the spline for the dog clutch. Had me thinking for a minute. Still, nothing a 2" socket and my trusty Milwaukee rattle gun couldn't undo. Need to get some decent circlip pliers. Those universal things from the car stores are rubbish.
Was going to do the rear seal on the T/C, but couldn't find the one that has been under my feet for some time, so that's next.
Glass of red and some sort of painkiller and I'll be up for the next challenge.... in a week or so. Don't come up as well as I used to.

Gave the s3 a wash...had to...it was a bit dirty after a mystery drive with other LRRegSA members. Great day was had by all. Seen an amasing amout of damage done by recent storms and floods. Some pics. First pic the river was so high it was over the top of the bridge. Its amasing seeing as how the lay of the land is and how deep the river actually is and the height of the surrounding land. Must have been huge amounts of water. Would have liked to have seen it in flood. Last pic is of the road mud washed of the s3 in the car wash...we didnt go down a lot of the tracks/roads we were planning to as they were still wet and we didnt want to damage the roads... Treading lightly...👍

    Cheers Rod.

Ps.. i decided to fill the s3 last night. Put 62 litres in at $107.9. This morning i went past same servo...$129.9. Bit of a saving... for once😆
