Bolted up a replacement rear bar on my RRC about 4 hours ago.
Nicer and more solid/beefy than the standard one.
Also has a swing out wheel carrier.
Just need to source some nuts for the studs.
Replaced the RH engine mount, amazing the difference just one mount makes, no vibration! LH one next weekend. Son helped, would have been almost impossible on my own. Anyone thinking about doing this, search the AULRO site for tips, helped me no end, Bob
i drove mine up to the local exhaust shop...
am looking forward to driving it home later today ...
a little less noisier than it left....
Replaced the EGR with a removal kit from jgs4x4 .
Great kit for the $$ and Install went quite well, glad I read the tip about spraying some WD40 on egr @ the exhaust manifold end.
Could not beleive the amount of black crud caked on the insides of the inlet manifold!
Did I notice any difference? Yes, definitely more responsive on light or part throtle.
Also fixed a vibration which occured at around 2500rpm. Happened to be the handbrake tension. Tightened it to spec and no more anoying vibration.
Had it cleaned, looks nice and sparkly now :D
And ordered my winch, now hoping it arrives in time for me to hide it from mum...
Fitted up the X-Trouser door striker to the Defender. Have ripped two jeans and work trousers jumping in :(. Got used to hopping in carefully but put these on. X-eng High Performance Off-Road Engineering
They work a treat but have found I needed to put in an extra shim / packer as the striker is just a little narrower than the OEM product.
Also fitted on the Mulgo door opening extension. It allows the rear doors to open a full 90 degrees. Such a small item that really makes it so easy to get stuff in and out of the back passenger area.
A bit more TLC to go.
Inspired by Disco Muppet I started removing the delaminating after market wood trim on the D2's dash. Heating up the wood trim with a hair dryer makes the adhesive very soft and makes it straightforward to remove the trim leaving minimal residual adhesive.

Goodbye Filler Strip
Autoglym Intensive Tar Removal did a great job of cleaning up the remaining adhesive residue.
