Replaced the speedo cable. Easy enough and is handy to have a working speedo again as I am traveling a lot further to work. Lifted the bonnet for the weekly quick look over. Found that the home made alternator bracket had not withstood the gentle vibrations of a Isuzu diesel. Was badly cracked and need to be replaced. So made a really heavy duty bracket and bolted that on. Will now have to see how that one fares. Also in the demise of the first bracket a mounting bolt had broken. P. T. A big time to remove so will leave it and see if the others are enough.

Installed my twin sill tanks in the D90 Little Landy:cool:. It was a big job and took me most of the weekend. Can't wait to see how far 150 litres will take me:).
got most of my seat covers on (canvas SCA ones, the front ones fit really well and the charcoal colour is a good match for grey interiors) The back ones are proving more trixsy though .. why did LR decide it was necessary to fabric cover betwen backrest and seat (you know where you'd normally poke the seat cover tabs through for tying).. its a pain in the arse
Aaaah the joy of working on my Landy......
Replaced the two oil cooler hoses yesterday (oil everywhere, still dripping out off the chassis rail....:mad:.....). Away for the week, so when I get back it'll be hooking into replacing my P gasket again, starting to leave a sizeable stain down the passenger side of the block, even dripping coolant down onto the swaybar (blow back from driving). Need to sort the valve tappets too, bit sluggish at the moment.
What's next? Attending to the cosmetic things, like the side strips (need to put them back on after removing them to install the flares), then the window tint and do something about the poor excuse for a rear bar (incorporate a swing away tire carrier too :D:D). May even get started on a set of side steps whilst the welder's humming from the rear bar.
Aside from all that, nothing much going on here.
Cheers

Re-furled the winch cable and discovered that my front locker is leaking air through the diff breather.

gace it a wash after driving through karajini yesterday
Installed the dolium 40 lt water tank that sits in the rear left guard of the 110.
The kit was ok, but needed a fair bit of modification to fit properly. The position of the tap is ridiculou, it would get ripped of in no time, so I will install a 12volt pump and move it a little higher.
Finished off retro-fitting the volumetric sensors to the D2 alarm system. Job took a couple of sensors and a RH "d" pillar trim from a suitable donor vehicle. Not sure if anyone would really want to steal the beast anyway, but the alarm is now fully functional if they try. :D
Installed a factory wiring kit at the weekend in readiness for a set of Hella Rallye 1000's which should appear in the next week or so.
Put it in a container ready for it's 2month cruise to Perth :D
