Thread: What did you do on your Landy today?

Inspected the phantom for damage after knocking down a roo last night

Sunroof bits didn't arrive, booked in for wednesday.

Re-located the highway aerial from the gutter mount near the windscreen to the bar.
Very crude job, needs to be done properly, but it's there and it will do for now.

Getting close to towing the new trailer and found the plug was the wrong type, so replace. As the image shows the lower plug is the lowest point perfect for damage the top one is a KT job with LED to show all wires are connected.
Now get it powder coated & remove the old one.

Mowed a patch of grass then maneuvered the series ones into a line to keep the place looking tidy, so there is no regrets.

Finally connected the CDL to the cabin with the kit I purchased, straight forward job, surprised myself. One thing I found out, my Diff. light switch had an intermittant fault, took it out, one of the connector thingies was broke. Went to MR Auto, they have an LT230 TC with the side cut off as a training aid, with the help of a nice young person, got a heads up on how the diff light switch works. Found out sometimes you need to shim the new switch to stop it being constantly on. A little bit of fiddling found me the right sized washer, I'm like a kid with a new toy, going to get my Bribie Island permit next week. Bob

Finished replacing the brake master cylinder on the 2a. Started it yesterday, but having decided to repaint the pedal assembly, then had to wait for the paint to dry.

I also fitted recently my CDL lever, but as I fitted the last rivet remembered I should have checked the switch.

Working on a TD5 station wagon and the job was to change the broken instrument binnacle for a good one.
Well one thing leads to another, in behind the instruments was the remains of a mobile phone car kit and a selection of haphazardly cut wires for it.
This needs to be removed before the new binnacle is fitted, so wires were traced down from the binnacle, along side the gear lever and then under the cubby box.

The lid on the cubby box does need recovering, so I thought this would be a good time to do something about it as well and so tried the first three screws fixing the box down, they came out without too much trouble, but you guessed it, the captive nut for the forth one seizes to the screw and the nut now rotates.

Easy fix, disconnect the rear flange of the front drive shaft, move the shaft aside & tie off, you have plenty of access to the switch, left hand over the top, right hand holding the torch , job on. Bob
