A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Not sure how DCPA did it but my mechanic removed and flushed mine with metho.
Trick is making sure it's all out, compressed air will be your friend here.

I've used specialised (and very exxy) flushing solvents, (that are designed to leave no residue inside refrigeration systems) thinners, white spirit, etc, and as Muppet said, the trick is to make sure it's all evaporated before re-connection and firing up.
My trick is to hook up the Mrs hair dryer to the inlet and let it rip to evaporate all the solvent.![]()
Probably not what you want to do at home, but when I worked for a large engine manufacturer and we had to clean them out on the side of the road - after a turbo failure - think several litres of oil in an intercooler here, we would remove the intercooler. then use plenty of degreaser and water, then reinstall it in the truck, connect the boost pipes from the turbo to the intercooler, but leave the boost hose off the inlet to the engine. Start the engine and give it some revs - the tubo did a very good job of pushing the water out of the intercooler...
Once there are no more signs of water. Connect up the boost pipe to the engine, test drive it and give it back to the driver.
The metho and hair dryer/compressed air sounds like a better idea though...![]()
