Question Latest turbo upgrade info for 300Tdi

    Hi All,

Anyone have some advice on the recent developments on turbo upgrades for Disco 300Tdi? Have searched quite a bit but info seems mostly a few years old now (probably cause the buggy is too).

One of the members called Jase had a parts list he was supplying as follows:

Another kit option is I sell a kit with the 2.8 TGC turbo
(well it's not really a kit just a list of spare parts I bring in with the engines & put togther in a box, so you can order whole kit or some parts) includes
    the TGV turbo (obviously)
    exhaust manifold
    exhaust manifold gasket
    turbo gaskets
set of exhasut manifold nuts & studs (old ones are often siezed & break on removal)

...But I can't find him to get more info.

Anyone else doing outfits...If I go to the effort of doing it, it will need to be VNT. Seems to be a swag of choices...GT2256V, GT2556V, 2.8TGC, GT22V... which way to go???

Rijidij has a 300tdi with VNT fitted by the previous owner. I know he's previously posted details of which turbo etc so if you have a search through his posts you should find it. Could be in the Isuzu section in a turbo discussion somewhere...

you may also want to check allardturbosport out... they do a vnt kit fo the 300/200tdi

Allard Turbo Sport - Land Rover

you will have to email / call them.. as they are hellishly busy at the moment with new websites etc.

I bought my td5 intercooler and egr from them, and although i had to organise my own shipping (not hard) and had to do a bit of to-ing and fro-ing it was worth it... just requires a bit of patience..

They have years of experience.. and seem to be heavily into deisel products now...

The turbo on my 300Tdi is a Garrett GT2556v. There's some info and performance figures in these two threads.

Talking so many ways to burn money

Well there is a mob in qld that is testing a ball bearing turbo setup
Gallery at the bottom of the gallery.
Although if I ware to get one I would have as much as i could done up by
swan tech coatings this would go for any new turbo I would but on. This would keep the heat in and make it more efficient and it would spool up quicker.

Talk to pete from bell auto services.

He is doing a bolt on vnt kit for them. It is a similar turbo to the one he has been selling for a few years now for the td5s. ( I have one and its awsome)
