Nothing too difficult about it. Disconnect the battery(s), and remove the wiring from the back of the starter, remove the heat shield so you can get it out, then it should just unbolt. The bolts are a bit fidly, as the body of the Lucas starter is very wide, and comes close to obstructing the bolts. I used a socket and extension and got them out ok. The new gear reduction starter (OEX brand) I installed was a lot narrower & lighter, so it was a piece of **** to put back in. It now starts very easily. The only other problem I had was the build up of years of crud around it, so a good clean was required before I started.
