    Binary File for EPROM in 14CXU Computer

    Hi I have an 85 county 4.4 Leyland V8 9.5:1 comp with Discovery EFI system on it with head and Inlet work and 4.6 valve (tulip valves). Also have LPG Injection with follows the original computer. I am after the binary file that can be written to the EPROM in the Disco computer that the fuel curve would suit this engine? I have an O2 sensor and gauge in it and is currently running fat at Idle and starts to lean out at about 2600rpm just when it is starting to produce good horse power. I did have a chip for a 4.6 and went well till it got fried along with the air flow sensor due to poor wiring in the LPG coversion (first and last time I let someone else work on my baby)

    I think these are pretty well held by the developers like Mark Adams.
    AFAIK they code the data and you have to have an unlock key.

    I had some thoughts last night as to how to overcome the leanness problem.
    1 What injectors are you running? If the old 14CUX Lucas they may be partially blocked. Bosch gen11 or gen3 Yellows may help

    2 If you fit Titania o2 sensors to the 14CUX ( as opposed to the gas) , they will control fuelling up to +- 15-20%, until the ecu goes open loop.

    3 If you fit an adjustable fuel pressure regulator along with the O2 sensors , they will take fuel out at low revs and you can adjust the regulator to give high rev mixture control.
    Me , I would probably pay for a Tornado.

    I am not sure exactly which injectors I have but they have only done about 10000km since fitted new. They have a blue strip on them if that means anything. That were probably on the bill I got and didn't pay much attention. I had thought about the o2 sensors I hadn't researched it but I do know that there are different ones and you need to have the correct ones. They are made of different materials and give different voltages depending on the o2 in the exaust. I will look into it and see if that helps. The ajustable regulator wont fix the LPG problem though?? I have a name of a bloke who should be able to change the gas mixture. I would like to go an after market computer that will give me sequential injection, do the timing and run coil packs and get the software so I can tune it but I don't have the $$$ at the moment and would like to get it running a bit better.     Having looked at the Marelli instruction manual only ( the limit of my gas experience), I was under the impression that you can add fuel at any place and load to the signal from the petrol injectors using a laptop and the supplied program.
    I would have thought any ECU controlled gas system would be the same.

    Mine follows the Petrol map but you can add ao take away at any point as nesassary. I have been unable to get the software and cable for it. The whole deal seems to be all tied up to make you go back to who put it in originally, and thats not going to happen. If any one can tell me where I can get it from it would be great.

    i run a 4.6 with injected gas using 14cux. as far as fuelling goes i would recommend a write up philipa did on installing o2 sensors. i have an led for each cylinder bank on the dash and can see that the 14cux can handle the fuelling. in your case you would need to get the cable and software for the gas. you make a petrol map by driving around with the o2 sensors then do your own map for the lpg but the o2 basically do the work for you.

    once you get your fuelling right then look at bee uteys coil conversion and at timing where there are big gains to be made. there are plenty of posts about this stuff.

    Hi Pillby, When you say "make a petrol map by driving around" how do you do that? as far as I know they don't learn and having an eprom in them they need to be erased with UV light then upload a file into it. I am sure there are plenty of posts about it, I am one of these people who get sick of sitting infront of a computer faily quickly. I'd rather be in my shed tinkering with my landies or up in the bush.
