It's easy enough to pull them off - you push out the centres of the plastic rivets holding the trims into the door frame and then gently pull the trims off the clips on the A-Pillars.

The problem lies in reattaching the trims once you are done. The mounting tabs on the back of the trims seem to become brittle with age, so if they don't snap when you pull them off (or discover someone else has already snapped them) you are likely to break them when you try to refit the trims.

The new trims I ended up buying after battling for what seemed to be days went on with a minimum of fuss.

Be warned that the plenum itself will be brittle after 10-12 years of exposure. You have to be very careful getting it past the bonnet hinges as it's easy to crack.

    cheers

The trick to geting the plenum cover off is to unbolt one of the hinges from the bonnet. Also, after you unscrew/unbolt it, to release it pull the cover down slightly - it has tabs that fit up under the windscreen.

Thanks also for the advice above.

For reference if people are looking for part numbers:

Trim clips inside the pillar are MUC3186
Clips on the outside of the finisher are AWR4426
    Plenum cover itself is JAK000010PMA
    Plenum cover clips JYC100910
