Making headway at the moment anyway. Found us a rental campervan that needs relocating to Melbourne, so that's our own transport covered. So the plan is to put everything from the defender inside (including the rooftent and maybe roofrack ) and hopefully we'll get a transport company that will take the empty defender.

However, now we're meeting the "if it's not running perfectly we're going to charge you two or three times as much" response - seems there's always someone trying to squeeze the past dollar out of it. CAlled over to Strangy's yesterday, she's starting at least, though the engine feels like it's going to launch itself out of the engine bay at any minute. But I reckon she'll have enough in her in low range to get her up the truck ramp and back down....

mate, no harm no foul, you've every right to be cranky pretty much everything is working against you while you've tried to do everything right and you feel that its not fair that you're being a burden on people you barely know. IF having a crack at me eases the pressure for you crack away.

to make it run better work out which pots arent firing or helping by cracking off the injectors one at a time. Some cylinders will make either no difference to or ease the turning of the engine. On those cylinders remove the valve rocker adjusters on the and pull the glow plug.

Lock the Tcase into low range and wire it in place once you get it running as best it can before you start it again wind up the low speed limit screw on the IP so that its idling at 800-900 RPM, it'll sound like hell but if its trying on 2 pots it'll give you enough to get an empty tdi landy up a normal profile loading ramp in first gear.

    G'day all

Well as strangy has already mentioned, we're on our way south, in a Britz van loaded to the gills with roof racks, ladder, personal items, etc, etc. at this stage words can not express my absolute loathing for all involved in the car transport industry from the NT, the company that eventually decided to take us pulling out at the last minute, but we did find a company to take the truck at the last, last minute. God knows when (if) it'll get to Victoria, but we're on our way at least.

Again, much thanks to everyone here for keeping my spirits up this past month, and needless to say, a huge shout out to everyone that's helped me along the way. In Port Augusta at the moment, having a bite to eat, before we hit the road again.

Wow you didnt muck about Mike, Well its only 1190 km and a touch under 13 hours till you grace Gippy with your presence.

Im sure someone can rustle you up a cold beer or 3 when you arrive and failing that theres a local brewery.

Well mike and Erica made it here this Arvo, had a few beers, food and a discussed a few hot topics of life, like Aerosmith being a ghey band and not in the same league as AC/DC .
Tomorrow arvo the work begins. Hopefully the defender is here before the weekend so we can start the transplant.
