    re-furbing disco steel rims

i washed the defender for the first time in a couple of years and decided the steelies ned a face lift.......

i seem to have one nice and shinny rims and three are not looking the best....without checking my camper trailer i assume its got the other three shinny rims

years ago i had the opportunity to have four rims re-sprayed with two-pack 'i believe' for free, the spray painter said it was the silver that toyota use on their steelies

soooooo, whats everybody else been doing

powder coat - i have read recently on here powder coat tends to crack after a while

respray - what is the colour, umm wonder what the cost would be

DIY - no a fan of this as i'm sure it wont look as good

Q, for a repray would i need to remove the tyres?

You could have them hot dip galvanised. Not sure if the "finish" is what you're after, but I know isuzurover did this to his. (I think it was in my members ride thread he mentioned it). Just another option you haven't mentioned...

Not sure what neck of the woods your at, But I normall charge $25 - $35 a wheel for the strip and $10 - $15 for the respray

Now not chasing work just throwing a number out so you have something to work with

Use a 2 part ZINC PHOSPHATE primer SEALER for ya best protection.

Pressure pack killrust black. Easy for touch ups.
Removing mud before spraying is optional. You can keep the tyres on.

    Change offset
    Hot dip gal
Spray yourself with rattlecans or gun off compressor
You only need to do the outside face once their gal
All paint chips of metal wheels especially 4wdriving
Wheels are easy to spray, even ididit
Fist leave the paint (especially it 2pac) enough time to harden
At least you can touch them up yourself
I know in Vic here certain types of mud stain wheels (labortouche)
