Gaz,
Good question for those of us driving 300Tdi's in their middle age.
I know the Td5 injectors are horrendously expensive.
Apart from the fuel consumption (has this been dramatic?) are there any other symptoms?
Hi Folks,
Has anyone here had to replace injectors for a 95 300 TDI and how much you had to pay for them? The oldman is nudjing 360 k's on his Disco and economy has dropped! Thanks.

Could always just put new tips on the injectors. Work out much cheaper than a whole new unit. Of course if you can buy tips for them, most you can and a small charge for a diesel shop to change them over.
That's all we used to do with tractors that had many hours up on the clock and getting bit white in the exhaust fumes, new tips and no more smokey.
Hi, I brought some stuff in from Turners in the UK a while ago and they had good prices for things like injectors. 50 pounds each from memory which worked out well against prices here. Haven't checked price lately though.
I think it would costs a bit over $100 each for cleaning and tips.
Cheers

Genuine from LR here is $432.05 list - around $475 retail (ERR3339).
They used be very cheap until a couple of years ago (less than $100) but I suppose demand kicked in & the prices went up.

Luckily, touch wood, I haven't had to ask but I'm afraid of the answer. 8O

Hi lads,
Haven't priced locally yet but was curious if anyone else had been through the exerecise. His fuel consumption has got worse but still running fine. Dad tows a tandem trailer quite a bit with so is pulling a fair bit of weight around. Thanks for your input. Will ring around locally this week to see what the stealer says and the local fuel injection joint.
Regards,Gaz
They are about $250 but try a bosch Diesel injection mob first and see if they can service them and how much. See the link below Brit 4x4 in sell them cause I got some off them for a car that had a bit of a hand grenade. They have a cat and price list on the web site.
