8) g'day ace, at the top of the page is a search jigger, type in 'recovery points' and there should be a long story about them,
i hope this will help you
Hi all, I just bought a black rat recovery hook, on ebay, will buy another one soon, where is the best spot, front and rear, to bolt the hook on? There is a TJM winch compatible bull bar on the front, I have been told this is strong enough to hold the hook, but i feel the chassis is the safest spot, i have looked under the vehicle but havent really got much of an idea, will there be a spot or am i going to have to make one and drill holes? Please help. Matt

Ace,
Harry's suggested read is worth it.
The tough part is that there is no obvious and easy answer.
Front recovery is a vexed issue.
I agree that the chassis is the obvious place and in addition two points are better than one.
A snatch recovery is more problematic than a simpler winch given the forces involved.
Then there is ADR.

Hey Matt,
How have you found the TJM bar?
still trying to decide between ARB or TJM
mine is air bag is yours?
how strong do the mountings look?
Regards Glen.
Boy can this thread wander - and yet - its staying technical. Suggest you start a new thread re the bullbar. Having said that, I have an airbag equipped Classic Rangie so am interested in option there. What's the TJM bar look like ?

BTW has anyone seen the stuff produced by outback products, they are making stuff(10,000lb rated points) for the new playdo and others, they may be able to produce something to suit, that is if they dont already. I only just saw them in the new products section of this months 4wd Monthly
Glen.
