If you cant see any obvious cracks elsewhere then you might be ok,just get the head checked for warpage.
Nothing obvious jumps out at me the extent of any cracking I can see is around the glowplugs of cylinders 2&3 so thinking I may be lucky but I guess no way of telling until I get it checked out.

Any recommendations on where to go to get it checked out as I guess a hardness test and warp test are in order. I am located in Hawthorn East so somewhere around that area would be preffered.

So went to get head tested and found a slight bow between cylinders 2&3 as well as a slight loss I hardness in the same area.
Was informed hardness loss wasn't enough to be worried about on it's own but combined with the slight bow they recommended replacing it.
Now to wait for a new one to arrive and hope that's the end of that issue

Most of the cheap local heads are chinese, not to say that they arent necessarily any good but i wouldnt trust them from a non LR reputable source.

Now the head is off clean the deck within an inch of its life and dry it thoroughly - best advice i got from the knowledge base here.

These are the AMC Heads from Spain, the same ones that Turner's from the UK sell.

I ordered from dls in the UK along with a few other things at a price that leaves anything locally way out of reach.
sure I have heard turners do high quality great heads but my budget really can't stretch that far and locally being quoted $100 just for bolts sounded outages.
Cleaning of the block is on the to do list oil has been drained and filter removed waiting for replacement.
Any tips to remove remaining fluids caught in center of piston or is it best to not install glow plugs and turn engine over by hand.

Ring AMC in Spain and ask where their heads are made, I did, would you believe China, like most replacement heads Cummins, Mack, etc.etc., Regards Frank.

I bought my AMC head from a seller on eBay based in Newcastle NSW, gasket MLS, bolts and all gaskets needed for $100 less than the uk, 1 1/2 days later had it delivered to my doorstep, can't understand why you are so keen to send your money OS and good luck with any warranty claims, Regards Frank.
