As far as I , most if not all Land Rover hubs are 5 x 120 PCD.


a lot of the holdens have the same stud pattern .


Is the trailer braked ? if so what sort of brakes ? Drums / Discs.


The trouble with the later model discovery's is the rim offset , and the rim extends to far in towards the trailer , this was my problem when I wanted to put D3 alloys on my camper trailer. I opted for a generic steel wheel which had a different offset and they fitted.


There is plenty of info on here about what you want to do. Do a search and you may be surprised at how many posts there are.

You can get hubs but they will have 9/16 studs, so you can either get blank hubs and fit LR studs or what i'm doing is i sourced studs from an AG supplier that are M16x 1.5 with a larger splined area.

Early D1 hubs are available. Just need to know your bearing type etc

D1 rims, aren't they 5 x 165??

Most trailer mobs won't be interested as it not what the masses want.......ring around and you should find somebody that will supply with 9/16 studs.......

Re tyre size, just check the max. Diameter tyre you can fit with the axle spacing.

You could go the whole hog with custom axles, defender stubs, disco hubs/rotors/calipers and a electric over hydraulic actuator.

Melbourne Trailers would make you up an axle with Land Rover hubs +/- brakes. I think I paid about $300 for an axle with brakes a few years ago.

More recently I got brake hubs to made by ALKO to match 10" brakes on a straight axle stub on on track trailer. They were $120ea with bearings.

If you ask for Land Rover hubs you generally get a tapered stub axle. Track Trailer stopped supplying Land Rover hubs due to failures on the tapered stub axles. ALKO however were able to make a hub to order if you gave them the PCD. The good thing with the ALKO was that the studs weren't 9/16 with fat wheel nuts, but what appear to be normal Land Rover studs.

Land Rover hubs are 5 x 165. Commodore hubs are 5 x 120. Discovery 1 are Land Rover, Discovery 2 and on are Commodore.
