I lost this thread somehow. Stuart, I'll PM you for a price on one. Is the QT-A1080 for the front or rear (or both)?

    Front

    Rear

How much is a diff housing worth or what damage is done running your lockers with no oil while you limp home?

invest $500 save $1000's unless you never go off road then they would be a waste of weight.

I have emailed QT to see what the shipping would cost.

You never know if it's not too expensive maybe we could get a good deal if more than just one of us ordered togehter?
It would depend on the cost of shipping though.
The rear diff guard looks quite substantial.

Keep us informed Steve - I could be interested in sharing the cost.

Shipping from the UK tends to be outrageously priced, and once the value of the consignment approaches $1,000 it is likely to be hit with GST (on both purchase price and freight), so the maths will be interesting.

I got a quote on some qt diff guards the other day.

From the QT in the UK they are 40 pounds each but the shipping to melbourne was 126 pounds!! this was for a rear diff guard for a disco.
thats about $270 just for shipping!!

Otherwise LRA and rovacraft sell them for about $160ea over here.

Maybe if we got enough people we could get a group buy from the UK and share the cost of shipping?

Wouldnt mind a set of trailing arms from qt as well.

    cheers

As an aside, the plate type protection ( Troutbeck, etc ), will obviously
work fine around the coast but further inland they will collect heaps of
spinifex and gunk. Packing spinifex up under your truck is a definite no no.

I much prefer bar work protection and real close fitting diff housing stuff.

I ordered a QT diff guard from Rovacraft this morning. I hope it fits the late Rover diff of the P38A - Rovacraft thinks it does even though QT doesn't list one for the P38A.

Unfortunately, the QT website doesn't list part nos. against part descriptions.

I know! It's far too clean! But I've only been here a few months, and I'd like you to take note of the oil stain under the rear diff.....
