    It's the metal strap that stops the door from swinging right open. It goes from the pillar to the door.
    It slides inside the door when it's closed.

    I think you could be onto somthing as this has been abused a few times with the door slipping out of my hands on hills occasionally Will report back once I find the damned knocking!!

    first time I opened a D2 door it rebounded and walloped me a good one!!!

    wonder why they changed from a
    "stay wide open door"
    to a
    "have to hold it wide open door"
    ?
