Guys before doing this and blaming the pump, always replace the fuel pump reply and test the pump again.

I found after replacing the pump twice, that it was infact the relay (and it has gone a second time in 100k)

So before the chop, replace the little bugger, its alot cheaper and easier in the end !

Yes I have. I cut a hole in my 90s floor ages ago using a router. 315 from rear edge of the flat actual floor panel and 405 from ns wheel box. The hole I cut was had a diamater of about 210mm.

This was pretty close and allowed me to remove the pump and replace it.

It wasn''t absoloutely spot on however as I did it blind. so be warned.

If you really want the exact spot and can wait, I can remove the panel and measure it in daylight tommorow, working out the exact spot.

Thank you very much for your reply, I would realy appreciate the checked dimensions as this would make the job so much easier, is ns the left or right hand side?
the main reason for this mod is to make life easier when the time comes as well as gaining access to the pump for some R.F.I suppression.

Here you go Will,

I removed part of the longitudinal brace as you can see in the pic. I would think looking at it, the pump may come out with that in. I would start with a small hole and make it larger if needed. The removal of the floor brace hasnt made any noticeable strength to the floor. I have had over 700kg of concrete in the back more than once.

Please exscuse how grubby it is. The floor had a rubber mat glued down which I have just peeled up to do this.

Thanks very much for the pictures, just to confirm what I see from the Photo :390 mm from back door and 330 mm from the right hand side fender "box"

Hi Will,

No, Left is wheelbox, bottom is back door.

So centre of hole in picture is @320mm from floor edge at rear and 400 from left hand wheelbox

Looks Good...

However I would use clench nuts/rivnuts. That way the screw holes wouldnt get flogged out.
