    Now this is a diffguard 8mm alloy plate

    shaped so it protects everything from radius arm to radius arm...and no for all the know it alls it don't catch grass, not never

    yeah but look youve lost at least a full 8mm of clearance there probably more as I bet its not attached to the bottom of the housing...

    This is exactly what the 3 stuffed rangie housings have in them at my joint, 76, 85 and 88...........

    Just like wheel studs....thanks for the lesson, but i know what they are!

    I'm still yet to see sumfink with screw in studs to the housing, series landy maybe????? but definately not classic RR

    The late 2a axle housing leaning against the wall in my shed has studs with heads like wheel studs from S3 on. But since they changed the wheel studs from screw in to ones with heads, maybe they did the same on the diff mounting bolts?

    Well having just read this thread I don't think anyone has mentioned that regardless of the bolt or stud arrangement if you were to take the top two bolts out it couldn't leak anyway.
    Maybe if you took out the bottom two
