    maxidrive hubs/flanges.

Hello all, hope we are doing well and life is good.

I'm wondering if the oracle can help me with some rough pricing for fitting of maxidrive flanges/hubs (not sure their full name). I have a 95 defender which is apparently needing them replaced. I have been quoted about $1000 for them.

    Ta

That sounds maybe a little much? How much are the flanges by themselves? Are they going to pull the hubs off to change the inner hub seal? Are they going to pull the stub axles off to remove the axle seal?

Including maxi axles it would seem a little more reasonable.

I'd want to know what they were going to do before I agreed to hand over $1000 of mine.

Should be $700 or close to it for Rear axles and drive flanges.

    Front flanges are............I dont know.

Give Fred Smith a call. He stocks maxi drive gear. You shouldn't have to wait, usually.

you just need to remove one seal

i was in a mad rush to finish my upgrade before my simpson trip, got the axles in two nights before i left, not even enough time for the oil to reach the bearing before leaving,, topped the diff up a bit along the way

I've heard good things regarding Fred...... spoken to him about other stuff too and he seems a top bloke.
