Bit confused I think...Diesels have one at the bottom of the timing case.....
and we should all use the one for the bell housing, I have the two installed and just remove them at service time to check whats been dripping if any..

I'll scan the pages from my user manual and post them here if ya like. I have a 1997 Disco V8i Auto and the manual only mentions wading plugs for the 300TDi engine vehicles.

This is what the RAVE manual has to say (in the owner's manual section).

Above this text is a diagram of a bellhousing with "Flywheel housing - V8i" written under it.

I checked my owners manual and what you say is correct. If I have a spot for one or there is one there then it must be a master of camouflage cause I can't find it.
Will have a crawl under neath again on the week end ans satisfy my curiousity

    * I had a good look today, for those that can't find theirs, I don't think they stand out like dogs balls, I crawled around and noticed on the bottom corners of the bell housing are 2 plugs with allen key like holes on their face. There are other fastening nuts and bolts along the bottom of the bellhousing, but these plugs are in the corners. It suprised me, as I thought it would be on the extreme most bottom possibly in the centre.
