    Sliders, body or chasis mount?

Hey guys, looking at getting or making some sliders for the disco, not sure about how strong body mount ones will be, but a lot of the ones you can buy (ie, LRA) are body mount, but to me mounting them off the chasis would seem like a stronger option. Has anyone had experience with either?

    Cheers

    Hi mate.
I made my own.I already had factory or ARB sidesteps, been told they are both!!!!
Anyhow I fitted the sliders to the sills and then re-inforced the sidesteps to the sliders.
Have a look in the tutorials sections for "LandyAndys Sliders"

    Sliders

We have got at least 6 Discos with sill mounted rock slider/ tree fender units on them in the Gold Coast Club. These are put to all kinds of tests and have not moved a mm.Basically if you bend the slider (L shaped rhs 4mm wall) you have bent the car

    Here's mine I made from Discowhite's instructions:
    MVC-002F.JPG

They're body mounted & the square section is 5mm thick - they ain't bending no matter how hard I try .
