How big is the standard radio? I've got mine sitting in the angled part - I guess the question is how deep are the units that you have.

I think you could but not 100% sure.

You know the guys at MudStuff.co.uk would be the best people to ask this question too, they should be able to give you an answer pretty quick(were always pretty good at answering my questions).
Stnadrad radio is 14 cm deep I think. Visually looked at Inc's against an old radio unit but its very hard to get an exact idea as o whether it will fit. I reckon it's be a close run thing. Then of course there are the plugs etc to think about (clearance required for those, too).

I did in fact ask the MUD guys and they came back to me quite quickly with:

I have to be perfectly honest and say I've never fitted a set-up like this, nor have I ever seen it done, however, there is certainly enough surface area on the console facia to fit two full size DIN units into lower portion of the console. However, due to the sloping nature of the dash creating a diminishing amount of space at the back of the console, you may have to remove a portion of the plastic trim at the rear of the dash in order to squeeze in one of the units. This isn't something you would normally have to do to fit one of our dash consoles.

It's common to fit a radio in the top portion of the console and a DIN sized CB into the bottom. It's a tight fit but it can be done. Whichever method you choose to mount both units won't be as straightforward as a regular console fitting so you may need to be creative to squeeze everything in.

Apologies if all this sounds a bit vague, but I'm just trying to be as honest as I can.

    Regards

    Kevin Baldwin
I certainly don't want to have to remove any of the plastic at the rear of the dash. As Kevin has been quite starightforward - eg he isn;t sure, I am asking around here to find out whether anyone on AULRO has managed to do it successfully.

    Anyone ?

Inc can you do a similar item at a competetive price ? I'm sure there'd be plenty of ongoing interest on this site if you were to carry (or be able to get on short notice) these swicthes and electrical accessories.

Or maybe Drivesafe you might be keen ?

C'mon !!!!!!!!!!! (as Lleyton would say).

Grizzly - wtf is that symbol supposed to mean - a light hanging off something ? and whats the bling its sitting in/on ?
The bling is a pressed aluminium sheet that used to be cool before everyone got keen on chequerplate. I've mostly seen it used on road cases for film crews and PA equipment.

Ok, I've found a few other options for these switches:

    * Springers 12V (Lawnton/Tingalpa) sell them. Black rocker, white illuminated square, green or red LED, surrounds etc. Not on their website but certainly some on the shelf at the Tingalpa store at least.

    * Whitworths Marine sell them. Gabba store has grey rockers, LED slit (not square)

    * Total Source wholesale them. Check their website. They have a 1800 number to find your closest retailer. Think Springers source theirs from here

me thinks total source are 2nd tier, will ring them if i get a chance, i have tier 1` contact but are mongrel to deal with which is why i havent run with them... and you have to buy tier 1 to be competitive and make enough for it to be worth the effort..

Open up the packaging and have a look - there should be a fairly substantial set of instructions in there with pictures and everything. In that they recommend a grinder

Yeah I read those but I was wondering what people had, in fact, used ! What'd you do ? Using a grinder seems a bit..... dangerous.
