Thanks Slunnie, that was good advice. I've just completed the process with inverting the carrier & grinding it a little. I'll have to go back & paint some primer on the exposed metal at a later time so rust doesn't happen. The spare now tilts slightly to the road and the bottom half is almost connecting with the door, but isn't too bad. With the front, I have had to remove the inner front splash gaurds behind the bumper which exposes the windshield water bottle, is it likely to get damaged now with no cover?

Gday Ricey241, no probs mate. I cant claim the intellect to have come up with that solution though, it just worked for me also.

with the inner splash guard behind the washer bottle, I've been running without it for a few years now and so far have not had any dramas. It been run through mud, water, fast dirt/rock etc etc. Thats not to say that nothing will ever happen though.

Something I have noticed from not running the splash guards is that there is the odd dent in the panel from underneath. This mod also exposes the air intake, so a snorkel is probably good also.
    Cheers
    Slunnie
