I've heard nothing but bad comments about Gabriel shockers - In my younger days I purchased a steering dampener for my Hilux 4x4... When I pulled off the one that had been on the vehicle since new (8 years and a Toyota genuine - probably made by Monroe) it felt better than the Gabriel that was brand spanking new, I took it back and just kept the original ;-)

A mate has had Dobinsons in his GU for ages and has been very happy with 'em. I had Dobinson coils in the back of the Paj and they were great.
Having said that, I'm putting Konis in the D2...

My last car was an 84 RR and it came with pedders shocks. Not long after I bought it one of the rears started leaking so I replaced the rears with OME for $100 each. I did over 150 000 hard km's over 5 years on those shocks without any more trouble. I am not bagging your choice of shock - each to their own - but if the billies are going to last 15 years (3x longer) then someone else is going to get the benefit of my hard earned because I would have upgraded my vehicle long before the shocks give up.
