65nm and use one drop and one drop ONLY of 242
If your using the gasket and its a new one give it a lick of hylomar #3 on both sides prior to assembly dont be tempted to reuse an old one unless you have grease bearings and ATV blue gets my backing as the formagasket to use.

More contact area. Square would provide four contact points, hexagonal = six, and so on. For the same reason, early Rangerovers have a reputation for eating axles as they were 10 spline, whereas later 24 spline are more durable, well, to a point.
edit. I removed all my flanges (that sounds wrong) for inspection and saved/re-used the gaskets (dry), no problems. Take a close look, if there's any signs of a sealant/gasket goo, chances are the gasket will tear, so go and buy new gaskets before you dismantle it.
