    Lost oil pressure RRC

On our way home from Cessnock our 89 RRC lost oil pressure after flooring it while overtaking a long bank of slow trafic. It kicked down and held 2nd gear so was doing close to 5000 RPM for a wile. When it changed up and Revs droped back to 2200 the oil light came on. Now it has cooled down it stays on till 1100 rpm. We took the risk and drove it home. I hope it may be the relief valve Any ideas? Thanks Tony.

Mmmm ... Now where did this exact thing happen to me???

On my way to Esperance!! .. 800k's with the thought of "I hope"

.... It was just a dead oil sender unit
Mine was leaking out of the plastic cap where the spade electrical connector comes out .... I fitted a mechanical gauge and the pressure read "great"

If you lost oil pressure ... your lifters would have collapsed and they would be clattering away

If all is quiet .... I recon your safe ..... Get a gauge and replace the light
