    I didn't think you could bore/hone a Td5?

    Aren't they ceramic coated or something?

    Phil, pretty sure you can't get OS pistons for the TD5.
    I like to get the bores clean enough that if you wipe them with a white rag the rag comes away clean. No discolouring.

    dont think so?
    but i think they were diamond honed to a very close tollerance.

    re-read and wilco - I must admit as an ignorant user I had always thought a good "warm-up" was the right thing to do - not that I ever have time!.

    I am glad my impatience is actual avoiding damage.

    just try and convince the F wit over the road from me the warm up his VY commadore for 15min b4 he goes anywhere, and thats at least 5 times just on saterday!!! this nob head wven pre heats his WHIPPERSNIPPER!!!!!

    I still hear trucks idling away while their drivers are having a meal at the truckstop in town.
    If they'd have worked for my mate Doug they'd be looking for a new job after their first trip.

    i think there is a campain in WA or SA to turn off idiling trucks after 5 min? that should be a national law!

    I would have to agree looking at the pics. I am by no means an expert, but have had a few bike barrels bored and a couple of car engines and it is closer to a nice shiny mirror finish. That is almost definatelly a hone job. Have done a couple of these with a mate and that is a similar finish. Not good.
