I need to sell the engine first, or otherwise I will sell as complete roadworthy unit

Well.. Looks like the disco block is the best option for now. This guy wants this thing going quick so have pulled sump off and removed pistons. Gave bores a very light hone and look OK. Not glazed and pitted like S/H engine Has no score marks..I don't like doing this but the Pistons and head off S/H engine are going into the honed disco block with new Rings and bearings. The head has had 6 thou skimed off and is OK other wise. Going to push a new ring down bore and check gap as disco block has done 400K. If all is bad will be a rushed rebore.

It will fire up ok. Has life time warranty of parts used

I've done this with large low stress engines many times and have got away with it. Rover .....I bet it bites. So long as clearances are OK it may survive The S/H block is getting a full reco anyway. So will have a spare short engine.

With a light hone the disco bores look OK. Still have to shove a ring down and check gap
