    Wortho,

Did you have the car fully loaded when doing your tyre clearance checking.

I found that on big speed humps as both rear wheels can up together, that the sides of the tyres started to get cut by the lip of the guard.

    Regards

No not fully loaded, had engel and an lt230 and some fishing gear in the back only about 50-60 lt of fuel(takes 150) so have a bit to go, but i'll be putting flares on soon hopefully and then it definatly won't be an issue.

Was in Beaurepaires in Goulburn on thursday and they had just gotten a set of the new Goodyear Wrangler MT/R, they look to be an impressive tyre, so i think if the tax man is good to me i am going to go with a set of them in 265/75/16 and think bigger next time once i can get some flares and the suspension and a body lift sorted.

Here is an article on the new Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar woven casing.

I run 255/85/16 MAXXIS on my d1 with not alot of troubles
Drive and ride nice, dont affect the steering and dont worry the fuzz or transport.
Do run a 50mm lift on the coils and a 30mm spacer in the back and get a little touch on rough stuff but a new set of rear coils should fix that.
Would most likely run the same size again when the time comes.
I was put on to the size by a toyota man how loves that size and after reading some reports, had no issues in buying a set of 255's.

I ended up getting the 267/75/16 Goodyear MTR's, the new model ones with the kevlar weave in the sidewalls.

They rubbed a little bit at the rear of the front wheels and also on the gaurd behind the rear wheels, a little more trimming sorted that up. A bigger lift is on the card later on, but at the moment all is good and they are heaps better than the cheese cutters i used to have, the extra 30mm width also looks heaps better.
