My grease gun is not a nipple person

I wanted a repair kit for my McNaught Mini-lube. The Qld. distributor did not stock spare parts!!!! They order them in from Melbourne as required and charge you the courier fee. A small clip lock bag of o-rings and seals $14, Courier $15. Product is good but this sort of customer service stinks.

Another Melbourne company is the distributor for a very reputable top shelf make of American pneumatic tools. They are listed in the Brisbane 'phone book as having an office at Acacia Ridge and I used to go there to buy parts.

Couple of years ago I 'phoned first to see if they had stock of my requirements. Took three days to get the 'phone answered. Turns out they no longer have a store there. It is now an office staffed by a part time clerk-typist who does admin work for the southern based reps when they are in Qld. and use the former shop as their base whilst here. I now have to go to a dealer 15 miles away from my place. Not happy, Jan.

Is it a McNaught?

I bought a cheapie and found there is a ridge of weld down the side of the tube where the tube has been rolled and welded. There's no way the plunger washer will ever seal. My McNaught doesn't have that lumpy weld.

Got two McNaughts, ones almost a thousand years old (about 964 this december), still use it all the time. The other is like brand new (scored it for $20 at a garage sale, BARGAIN!).

They are good, and like mentioned also rebuildable. Have not had to replace anything on my gun ever.

Yep - the same as in the link that Utemaid put up. Maybe needs a new seal but has only been used a few times because of the mess it makes.

Look at the number of views this thread has had. I can't believe that grease guns are really all that interesting. Some people must have done a search on one of the words in the title.
